Beginners Snowboarding Techniques

How to get rid of fear of boxes/ramps/rails for snowboarding?

I’ve been snowboarding for 4 years now and I still have a major fear of rails/ramps/boxes of all kinds.

I’m better than pretty much all of my friends at snowboarding, I don’t fall going down slopes anymore.

How do I get over my fear of terrain parks though? I see little 5 year olds doing those rails and ramps and yet Im afraid of breaking my neck on them.

Are there any techniques I need to know? Any videos I can watch for terrain park beginners?

Thanks!

Take some lessons. Also if you get some protective gear you will have more confidence because you’ll feel that You Are less likely to get injured. They make body armor for just about all body parts. Between lessons and some padding you will get it no problem. I think that often when you get good at snowboarding we tend to forget about lessons, but they can really help out. Or try a snowboard camp like Windels (on Mt. Hood), or similar, they are geared towards helping you to go to the next level in your snowboarding.
