Leg Bags Snowboarding

My oldest son has a horrible addiction and i am at my wits end i don’t know what to do?

My oldes son who is 17 has been addicted to prescription painkillers since he was 14 years old. He had a snowboarding accident and was going through physical therapy for a year… I initially got worried when he was denied pain meds by our family doctor who knows us for actually walking in and asking for them by name, theyr’e called loriset pills. When he was 16 he admitted he intionally fractured his finger on a punching bag so he could go the to e.r. and get pills, he is never home, he have sent him to rehab twice which he never completed we finally forced him to live with us to keep watch over him but two days ago he ran a skil saw through the upper part of his entire thigh clear down do bone to get to go to the hospital, he was bleeding severly and nearly died on the way there and may lose his leg as a result. For no other reason than he said he had to have his meds, that he “needed” them… I’m fed up, what other options do i have?????

While in the hospital, seek psy help, he may be self medicating for a mental disorder. There are options if the psy doctor concider he’s a danger to himself (like place him under conservatorship….) please find a psy before it’s to late, your son deserves a healthy life and you can help him, don’t give up!!!
