Snowboarding Near San Diego

What is a good place to go snowboarding near san diego?

i live in san diego and i am trying to take my bf on vacation to go snowboarding. What’s close by and worth the trip?

im not sure what wallx means by “theres not really much around there”. i live in carlsbad…. theres plenty of places to shred around here. ( although, ive been to mt. hood and no place around here will match the conditions there ) anyway, you got big bear/summit here for the best park in the area. there are alot of people there though. tourists and locals alike. i personally enjoy mt. high… its gotta great park called Faultline, the lift lines arent really all that long and its a little closer than bear. and there is never icy roads up be mt.high. big bear can get dangerous sometimes and the roads close often. high is always accesible. mammoth is also a great mountain, but it more central cali than anything. about 7-8 hours drive from SD. ive done many times, trust me. however, you can fly into an airstrip there now for cheap. havent done it, but you may wanna look into prices if you have a long weekend to spare.

hope that helps… dont get discouraged living in SD, theres plenty of spots to shred. im on the mountain about 2-3 days a week and i work full time. then again i got a passion for it. have fun this season!!! check out Faultline!!

also, i forgot to mention. these places are about 1.5 to 2 hours away, depending on how bad traffic is. the drive is worth it though, i believe…. the easiest drive is to Mt.High though, like i said before. It’s in Wrightwood if you wanna look it up. or go to www.mthigh.com. i know it sounds like im trying to sell this place, but honestly i just think its better for the money and gas. especially if your not a real “hardcore” rider. k… im done rambling. have fun on vaca.
