Teach me all About Snowboarding?

When i went to shawnee mountain i first learned how to ski and now i’m learning how to snowboard, can someone help me-
-how do you turn left and right when going down the hill
-how do you slow down/stop when going down the hill

TURNING ON THE HILL

when You Are going down you bend your knees so you are in the stance you prefer. start down straight or tilted toward the side you want to start on. to turn right if you are goofy (right foot forward), lean back on your heels and tilt your chest forward. do not go too far back on your heels or you will catch and edge and fall on your back. to turn left when you are goofy, reverse this and go on your toes with your back leaned back. weather you are goofy or regular (left foot forward) the change from your heels to toes is always harder. if you have a regular stance, then completely reverse the order. to go left go on your toes and and to go right go on your heels. THAT IS THE BASIC TURN.

if at first you find this too difficult (it is easier said than done) try the FALLING LEAF TURN.

this is a very basic turn that makes you go very slow and is a great turn if you are either you are stumped with the normal turn or there is one spot on the slope that goes from green to black for a few feet. the falling leaf is a turn that makes you do very quick switches from goofy to regular to go down the hill. to do the falling leaf, begin on one turn end, i like to start on my toes (to the left if regular, to the right if goofy) you then do a quick stop (next section) and move your hips and legs so the opposite foot is in front. do another stop and twist to the other side. to do this twist if you are regular and starting on your toes, make it so your you should do this for only about 2 or 3 sec. before yopu become an intermediet snowboarder. if you wait too long, then you will have truble turning back to your natural stance.

STOPPING

to stop, take your back foot and twist it so it is horizantal to your top foot. lean back on your heels and push your knees out. you must do this quickly and smoothly or you will fall or go too fast while you want to stop. the opposite.

SLOWING DOWN

while there always is the obvious, just fall on your butt and restart, which i use all the time, and there is no shame in doing it, falling purposfully dosn’t count, you should know how to slow down. the reason you are going too fast is probably because you are going striaght downhill. so if that is so then just lean on your toes or heels to get slower.

I hope i helped and if you need a visual, here are some links to a how to video:
