Women Snowboarding Boots Burton

Wondering what board would be best for me, suggestions appreciated.?

I’m new at snowboarding, and I have only gone twice, but love it so much already. I’m thinking about getting a board, though it could be too early. Anyways, if I do, I was just wondering which one would be the best for me. I’m 5′3, 115 lbs, goofy, with size 8 feet (women’s). I just need one to get down the mountains. More freeriding than freestyling. I’ve heard the Burton Air is good.

Price range’ll be about 400 and under. I need a good board that’ll let me turn easily, because I have lots of trouble making my board lean forward, but no problem leaning backwards. Wondering as to what length the board should be too. Up to my chin?

Suggestions about boots and bindings would be appreciated too, Thanks in advance.

If you’re a beginner, the best thing to do is to buy great boots and bindings first. The funny thing About Snowboarding is that you’re not gonna stay a beginner very long. Better get already intermediate boots and bindings and buy a cheaper board for starting up. As soon as you’ll feel better, you’ll go get yourself a better board.

The Burton Air is good but will be too wide for the size of your feet. If you want to stay with Burton, check out the Sterling (from last year), the Troop or the Feather. Even if some of these boards are more freestyling than freeriding, it would be perfect for a beginner since they’ll forgive a little bit more. Else, if you don’t want to spend too much, check out the Rossignols (like the Zena). These boards are heavier but a lot more affordable. Always check out last year boards. If you find something in your size, you can easily get between 30 and 50% off.

Boots and bindings, no doubt about it, you should go with Burton. As I’ve said, better put a little more money there. In the bindings, check out the Lexa or the Escapade. They’re expensive but so comfortable compared to the Freestyle or even the Custom. For the boots, the best thing is to try many of them. Be sure that it’s quite flexible (you’re quite light; if you take a boot that is too stiff with your weight, you’ll have some problem flexing it and you won’t like it). Pick the one that you’re the most comfortable with.

Hope it helps.
